In the Beginning (49.5 x 30) 1982.
“In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth.
Now the earth was vague and empty..., the spirit of God was moving over the waters” (Gen. I, 1,2).
The vision appears in the middle of the primordial waters before God, on the second day, separates the waters that are under the firmament from the waters that are above the firmament” (Gen. I,7).
On the fourth day, God said: “Let there be lights of the sky to separate the day and the night”...
God made the two major lights: the greater light as the power of the day and the lesser light as the power of the night, and the stars.
God placed them in the firmament of the sky” (Gen. I, 16,17).
The hand of God separates the day from the night, thus revealing the structure right-left.
The Tree of Life surmounted by the phoenix, takes place under the sun, the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, surmounted by a skull, under the moon.
(Text commentary by Charles Sahuguet).

It is not good for man to be alone (45.5 x 34.5) 1982.
“God made the firmament which separated the waters which are under the firmament from the waters which are above the firmament...
Let the waters which are under the sky be gathered together into a single mass and let the continent appear...
God made the 2 major luminaries” (Gen.I,7…9, 14...16).
Sun and moon symbolize the right-left structure.
The Tetramorph symbolizes the presence of God whose eye contemplates creation.
The palm tree, sacred tree, is the Tree of Life in the middle of the Garden of Eden.
Birds (life) fly around it and feed on its fruits.
You have to pass over the serpent which surrounds it to reach it.
The dove warns Eve against the temptation of the serpent.
Adam marvels: “At this blow, it is bone of my bones/ and flesh of my flesh” (Gen. II,23).
(Text commentary by Charles Sahuguet).
